People achieving excellence

In Ruma Toru we have been talking about discrimination. It all started with Anne Frank and a reading about the Moriori. Kayle asked about slavery and what we learned about shocked us. We didn't understand how people could be so unfair, so we decided we needed to do something to make sure people didn't make the same mistakes as the past.

But, what can we do? I hear you ask!

Well, we can demonstrate excellence and success, throughout a cross section of people so that everyone will begin to understand that ALL people can be great. No matter where they come from, what colour they are, how old they are, or how they grew up.

But what is excellence or success? We had a chat about what we consider to be success.

We did some research about different people we thought were excellent. The research was a bit tricky, but we got there in the end.

Karn, Mariko and Jack interviewed Karn's Nan, Tracey too!

Here is some of our work. You can come and see it close up in Ruma Toru's Gallery of Modern Works.

  1. Kia ora Ruma Toru,
It’s Azaria, I love all the writing you have been doing! I’m pretty sure I saw my writing on this post. Out of all of them I think that there is no best because they are all really good. How many people did this writing in groups?

    Kind Regards/ Love Azaria
